Catherine Kelly Peterson

Hello! I’m Catherine Kelly Peterson, and I’m proud to be a Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner based in the beautiful South Ogden, Utah. With over 20 years of nursing experience, my journey has been a fulfilling blend of education, patient care,

and a deep-seated passion for making a meaningful impact in people’s lives. My adventure began with a Master’s degree in Nursing Education, driven by my desire to understand the intricacies of learning and motivation. I absolutely love teaching, and this degree equipped me to be the best at educating and empowering my patients. I’ve had the pleasure of teaching in academic settings and guiding nursing teams in corporate America, but my heart longed for the direct patient care that makes a real difference.
To fulfill this calling, I pursued a second Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner, enabling me to care for patients of all ages.
As a Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner, I have the privilege of dedicating quality time to my patients, exploring their personal histories to uncover the root causes of chronic diseases. Functional Medicine aims to restore health by addressing the underlying causes of illness. By considering factors such as genetics, lifestyle, environment, and emotional well-being, we can create personalized treatment plans that promote true healing.
I believe health is a journey, and at Wasatch Functional Medicine, we support our patients every step of the way, helping them achieve their unique health goals. This is what true healthcare looks like, and I am honored to be a part of it.

accountability, tools, support, and guidance in developing new sustainable lifestyle changes, patterns, healthy habits, and self-alignment.
My holistic health journey began at 19 with a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), an autoimmune. Battling immobilization and severe pain prompted me to explore natural remedies when conventional treatments fell short. I found ways to manage my pain through nutrition, movement, and mindfulness practices. After earning a Bachelor of Science from Weber State University, I entered the corporate world. Balancing a demanding career with raising two children, one with special needs, took a toll on my health over the next 20 years.
Consistently high stress levels were the norm, coupled with the struggle to handle physical pain and sustain my mental well-being. Realizing the imperative need for significant life changes, I returned to school to deepen my understanding and embodiment of Holistic Health. Pursuing balance through exploration, education, and implementation became the cornerstone of my journey to better health. Shifting from mere survival to thriving, I fully embraced mindful living, mastered nervous system regulation, and adopted a nourishing diet as an integral component of my well-being. My commitment to ongoing learning and teaching led me to attain certification as a yoga teacher (RYT200) in the beautiful practice of yoga, deepening my mindfulness and complementing my passion for Functional and Integrative Health.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I find joy in activities like hiking, trail running, pilates, and camping, as well as mindful practices such as yoga and meditation. Quality time with family and friends, immersion in nature, cooking, learning, and traveling also bring me happiness. I look forward to being a part in your health journey.

as a licensed Qi Gong instructor, I bring a truly integrative approach to bodywork.
I specialize in Intuitive Therapeutic Massage, a unique experience that blends eastern and western healing modalities to support the body, mind, and spirit. Using techniques like deep tissue, Swedish, sports massage, injury rehab, shiatsu, acupressure, and Buddha Palm (a qi gong-based energy modality), I listen deeply to both the physical body and the emotional patterns it may be holding. Whether releasing tension, supporting injury recovery, or creating space for emotional release, each session is tailored to meet the client where they are.
I love working with a wide range of people—whether you’re an athlete, pregnant, in pain, emotionally overwhelmed, or just need time to reconnect with yourself. My goal is always the same: to help you heal, connect, and live more fully.
I continue to expand my toolkit with ongoing training, because I believe healing is an ever-evolving journey—for both practitioner and client.
“Holistic medicine is not an alternative but the very basis of the art of healing.”

our Happy Patients
“I dearly love coming to Kelly! She cares very deeply about her patients and wants to get to the bottom of what the problem is, unlike my experience with classical medicine that just wants to throw pills at you. Kelly genuinely cares about you and your health. She has helped me with my hormone imbalances and other issues. I feel great since seeing her! You’ll love her staff too, they are so sweet! You will feel cared for here at Wasatch Functional Medicine! I highly and strongly recommend them for your health care!“
